This handmade antique, a finely carved decorative chariot piece, is unique in that it is carved entirely out of a single curved block of wood. Depicting an Indian dancer taking refuge in the woods for the Arattu, which is the holy bathing of temple deities, it is a beautiful panel made of the strongest teak wood. The carvings are intricate and well stabilized on a base of the same wood. The most special aspect is the curvature of the wood, polished while maintaining its quaint antiquity in each ridge.
