The Mayura Prism Table is a striking heirloom-style centerpiece designed to merge heritage storytelling with contemporary utility.
Framed Glass Canvas
This is the glass-top surface, bordered with carved dark wood. It protects the glass inlays below while offering a glossy viewing window, much like a painting frame or a temple peetham (pedestal).
Inlay Jewel Mosaic
Beneath the glass, a beautifully laid-out set of square and octagonal colored glass tiles reflect light like miniature gemstones. The grid layout is symmetrical and reminiscent of temple ceilings, rangoli patterns, or old jharokha windows.
Sculpted Apron Band
The wooden skirt (or apron) below the tabletop features delicate carved borders — floral or geometric — enhancing the artisanal value of the design. It serves to elevate the top while adding shadow play and texture.
Lotus Bulb Legs
These are the robust, turned wooden legs shaped like lotus buds and temple lamp stems (vilakku thūṇu). Each leg rests gracefully on white caps to protect the floor and balance the weight of the top.
This table is a tactile fusion of traditional Indian ornamentation and Western function.
